We have a work to do on this earth. We don’t find ourselves or our true purpose until we find ourselves in Jesus Christ. There’s no need to go around the world to find yourself. If we reach out to our Heavenly Father, then we will find out who we truly are and what His desire is for our life.
Our life is not about us. It’s about serving God and others. In order to get to know God better, we need to listen to the Lord and not just do all the talking during our prayer time. To get to the Lord, practice sitting in silence before the Lord for 15 minutes. It’s easy to let our mind drift. So try this habit of solitude to practice hearing from God. During that time, open up your Bible and start reading.
- Acts 16:6 – Now when they had gone through Phrygia and the region of Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia.
In this passage, the disciples were forbidden to go to Asia to minister by the Holy Spirit–and they had no idea why. It is very important for us to listen to the leadership of the Holy Spirit for guidance even when we don’t understand. Obeying the Holy Spirit ALWAYS leads to a result that is best for us.
THE HOLY SPIRIT WILL SPEAK TO US THROUGH THE WORD OF GOD.
When the Holy Spirit guides us, we can’t allow what we see, think or feel interfere with our obedience. We must obey in faith because God often leads us to something that is impossible for us, but very possible for Him.
THE HOLY SPIRIT WILL SHOW US THINGS TO COME.
Live a life of readiness–ready to obey God, ready for the Lord’s return or our own death. The Holy Spirit will lead us to a life of readiness for the kingdom of God.
THE HOLY SPIRIT WILL LEAD US TO LIVE A HOLY LIFE.
- 1 John 3:9 – Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.
- 1 John 3:9 AMPC No one born (begotten) of God [deliberately, knowingly, and habitually] practices sin, for God’s nature abides in him [His principle of life, the divine sperm, remains permanently within him]; and he cannot practice sinning because he is born (begotten) of God.
Don’t allow people to drop negative seed in your spirit. You don’t have to receive everything someone says. The Holy Spirit will let you know what to receive and what not to receive from people.
THE HOLY SPIRIT GIVES US AN APPETITE FOR GODLINESS.
Sinful habits and mindsets don’t appeal to us as we draw closer and closer to God.
