“But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the first-fruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21 For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive.” 1 Corinthians 15:20-22
In life there are times when we get knocked down. But we can rise again because JESUS rose again with all power in His hands.
- Luke 24:1-7 New King James Version – 1 Now on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they, and certain other women with them, came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared. 2 But they found the stone rolled away from the tomb. 3 Then they went in and did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 And it happened, as they were greatly perplexed about this, that behold, two men stood by them in shining garments. 5 Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? 6 He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee, 7 saying, ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.’ ”
Resurrection Sunday is about Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection. Jesus died that you and I might have life and have it more abundantly. Jesus left Heaven to save us. Nobody in Heaven ever wants to come back here. Earth is so much lower than Heaven. Jesus is God and Our Savior. Our Lord God put on mortal flesh and left heaven to become the perfect sacrifice for our sins.
Jesus faced the worst of what this sinful world has to offer–and overcame it. He overcame evil with good. We are called to follow Him. We will also face obstacles and trials. But we can overcome every one by the power of the blood of Jesus that was shed for our sins.
- Hebrews 1:1-3 New King James Version – God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, 2 has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; 3 who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
Jesus died for us before we loved Him. He loved us first, even while we were still living a life of sin.
- Romans 5:8 New King James Version – But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
