Be Anchored in Truth

Storms are coming and you will not stand if you are not anchored in the Lord. There is already a lot of deception in the world. People who are deceived, do not know they are deceived. They believe the deceit. The enemy comes as a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Instead of the sheep leaving full of the word of God, the wolves are leaving full of the word they stole from the sheep. It’s precious to hear the Word of God. It is important not to be distracted when the Word is being taught. Positive confession will not stop difficult times from coming. So we must be anchored in truth from the Word of God to endure difficult times.

Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light to my path.

Psalm 119:105

2 Timothy 3:1-5 Living Bible – “You may as well know this too, Timothy, that in the last days it is going to be very difficult to be a Christian. For people will love only themselves and their money; they will be proud and boastful, sneering at God, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful to them, and thoroughly bad. They will be hardheaded and never give in to others; they will be constant liars and troublemakers and will think nothing of immorality. They will be rough and cruel, and sneer at those who try to be good. They will betray their friends; they will be hotheaded, puffed up with pride, and prefer good times to worshiping God. They will go to church, yes, but they won’t really believe anything they hear. Don’t be taken in by people like that. They are the kind who craftily sneak into other people’s homes and make friendships with silly, sin-burdened women and teach them their new doctrines. Women of that kind are forever following new teachers, but they never understand the truth.”

  • Be careful of scoffers. Scoffers make fun or make light of Christ.
  • Don’t change your walk with the Lord based on who you are around.
  • Teachers who reject the truth lead many astray.

2 Timothy 3:10-17 Living Bible – But you know from watching me that I am not that kind of person. You know what I believe and the way I live and what I want. You know my faith in Christ and how I have suffered. You know my love for you, and my patience. 11 You know how many troubles I have had as a result of my preaching the Good News. You know about all that was done to me while I was visiting in Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra, but the Lord delivered me. 12 Yes, and those who decide to please Christ Jesus by living godly lives will suffer at the hands of those who hate him. 13 In fact, evil men and false teachers will become worse and worse, deceiving many, they themselves having been deceived by Satan. 14 But you must keep on believing the things you have been taught. You know they are true, for you know that you can trust those of us who have taught you. 15 You know how, when you were a small child, you were taught the holy Scriptures; and it is these that make you wise to accept God’s salvation by trusting in Christ Jesus. 16 The whole Bible was given to us by inspiration from God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives; it straightens us out and helps us do what is right. 17 It is God’s way of making us well prepared at every point, fully equipped to do good to everyone.

  • Truth is often packaged in the form of a trial.
  • Truth is sometimes a hard pill to swallow.
  • The Word of God corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.
  • Sin pleases the flesh, but holiness pleases God.
  • God calls His children to be holy as He is holy.
  • When truth shows up, the sin party is over.
  • Don’t look for a crowd to be on the side of truth.
  • The anchor is the truth of God’s Word.
  • The enemy is trying to pull up the anchor everyday.
  • Teach your children truth.

Anchored in Truth.

Message Notes

–Many people don’t want the truth.
–We are good at dancing around the truth.
–Just tell the truth and let the truth cut.
–Truth hurts when pride is on the throne.
–PRIDE REJECTS TRUTH.
–Pride focuses on “I” and “I” always want to be right.
–TRUTH FOCUSES ON GOD AND OTHERS
–False teachers are focused on opposing the truth and people that tell the truth.
–There are people you think are your brothers and sisters in the Lord and they are not. They are false.
–SOMETIMES THE TRUTH WILL GET YOU DOWN
–If the truth gets you down, it’s because something that is ungodly has built up inside of you.
–YOU WILL NEVER LOSE OUT BEING OBEDIENT TO GOD.
–YOU WILL ALWAYS WIN WHEN YOU ARE OBEDIENT TO GOD.
–Nobody who follows the devil wins in the end.
–The enemy knows how to dress up and appear good. Pray for discernment.
–We have to have encouragement AND the truth.

–If you speak truth, you may lose family and friends. Be willing to die to your feelings and speak the truth anyway.

–WHAT’S DETERRING YOU FROM FOLLOWING GOD ALL THE WAY?
–WHAT’S STOPPING YOU FROM BEING FULLY COMMITTED TO GOD?
–What are you holding back on? That little bit you are holding on to could keep you out of the kingdom?
Remember Lot’s wife.

–GENESIS 19:15-17 -15 When the morning dawned, the angels urged Lot to hurry, saying, “Arise, take your wife and your two daughters who are here, lest you be consumed in the punishment of the city.” 16 And while he lingered, the men took hold of his hand, his wife’s hand, and the hands of his two daughters, the Lord being merciful to him, and they brought him out and set him outside the city. 17 So it came to pass, when they had brought them outside, that he said, “Escape for your life! Do not look behind you nor stay anywhere in the plain. Escape to the mountains, lest you be destroyed.”

–WHEN YOU LEAVE SODOM AND GOMORRAH, DO NOT LOOK BACK.
–The whole family got the same word and the same instructions–“DON’T LOOK BACK.”
–But Lot’s wife looked back and became a pillar of salt.
–LOOKING BACK, PROVES YOUR HEART IS NOT PUTTING CHRIST FIRST.
–Where’s your heart?
–Lot and his daughter’s were tested because when his wife looked back–would they look back too?

DON’T DO IT! DON’T EVEN LOOK BACK TO SEE WHAT HAPPENED TO THEM. KEEP YOUR EYES ON JESUS.

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

Matthew 6:33 New King James Version

Four Faith Friends that Will Never Fail.

Hebrews 10:38-39 New King James Version – 38 Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him.” 39 But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul.

  • Take your friends to see Jesus.
  • Take your problems to Jesus.
  • Know when you need help and you can’t handle it.

One man had four really good friends, who were determined to get him the help he needs. Wouldn’t you like to have four faithful friends like these?

Mark 2: 1-11 New King James Version – Jesus Forgives and Heals a Paralytic

And again He entered Capernaum after some days, and it was heard that He was in the house. Immediately many gathered together, so that there was no longer room to receive them, not even near the door. And He preached the word to them. Then they came to Him, bringing a paralytic who was carried by four men. And when they could not come near Him because of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where He was. So when they had broken through, they let down the bed on which the paralytic was lying. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you.” And some of the scribes were sitting there and reasoning in their hearts, “Why does this Man speak blasphemies like this? Who can forgive sins but God alone?” But immediately, when Jesus perceived in His spirit that they reasoned thus within themselves, He said to them, “Why do you reason about these things in your hearts? Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Arise, take up your bed and walk’? 10 But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins”—He said to the paralytic, 11 “I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.” 12 Immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went out in the presence of them all, so that all were amazed and glorified God, saying, “We never saw anything like this!”

It takes humility to know when you need help.

  • The first faith friend you need is FAITH IN GOD.
  • The second faith friend you need is HAVE A PLAN–GOD IS THE PLAN.
    • Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
  • God knows every obstacle you will face. Make God the plan and HE WILL GIVE YOU INSTRUCTIONS.
  • God’s instructions will lead you to eternal life and abundant life.
  • God can meet your every need. When will you make God your plan?
  • The third faith friend you need is PERSISTENCE.
  • You must be determined. You faith must be seen, not just heart. When faith shows up, so does favor
  • The fourth faith friend you need is WORKS. Faith is demonstrated by works. If you believe it, you act on it. Faith without works is dead. Can Jesus SEE your faith? James
  • You CANNOT HAVE A QUITTERS SPIRIT. Don’t give up.
  • One word from the Lord can change your life.
  • Faith gets up. If you fall down, repent and get back up.

The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power.

Message by Bishop Brown, Senior

And they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel of the houses where they eat it.” Exodus 12:7

  • Psalm 105:36-45 New King James Version – 5 And ate up all the vegetation in their land, And devoured the fruit of their ground. 36 He also destroyed all the firstborn in their land, The first of all their strength. 37 He also brought them out with silver and gold, And there was none feeble among His tribes. 38 Egypt was glad when they departed, For the fear of them had fallen upon them. 39 He spread a cloud for a covering, And fire to give light in the night. 40 The people asked, and He brought quail, And satisfied them with the bread of heaven. 41 He opened the rock, and water gushed out; It ran in the dry places like a river. 42 For He remembered His holy promise, And Abraham His servant. 43 He brought out His people with joy, His chosen ones with gladness. 44 He gave them the lands of the Gentiles, And they inherited the labor of the nations, 45 That they might observe His statutes And keep His laws.

Because of the blood of the lamb, God delivered the children of Israel from the bondage of slavery; He spared their lives from the plague of the death angel; He healed the children of Israel; He gave them finances; He fed them manna from Heaven; and the Lord gave them water from a rock when they were thirsty. GOD WANTS TO DELIVER US FROM SIN AND TAKE CARE OF US. God wants to be involved in every area of our lives.

When we understand the power of the blood of Jesus and apply it to our lives, we can experience deliverance.

Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.

John 1:29

We must speak and say the Word of God and apply the blood of Jesus to the situation by faith. Sing a song about the blood of Jesus through the house. The blood of Jesus will put the devil on the run and cleanse our conscience.

THE BLOOD OF JESUS CLEANSES OUR CONSCIENCE FROM GUILT.

–Hebrews 9:12 New King James Version – 12 Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. 13 For if the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies for the purifying of the flesh, 14 how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? 15 And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.

–JESUS PAID THE PRICE OF OUR SINS WITH HIS OWN BLOOD.
–JESUS HAS PAID FOR OUR RELEASE WITH HIS BLOOD.
–Jesus purchased our ETERNAL salvation with His blood.
–Sprinkle the blood of Jesus over your life and over your household’s life.
–PRESENT THE BLOOD OF JESUS AS PROOF TO THE FATHER THAT YOU HAVE BEEN REDEEMED.
–When trials come your way, apply the blood of Jesus by faith over your situation. Speak the scriptures.

–Jude 1:24-25 – 24 Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, And to present you faultless Before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, 25 To God our Savior, Who alone is wise, Be glory and majesty, Dominion and power, Both now and forever. Amen.

  • ASK THE LORD TO COVER YOUR HOME WITH THE BLOOD OF JESUS.
  • THE BLOOD OF JESUS WILL NEVER LOSE IT’S Power.

–Life is in the blood.
–Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins.
–Apply the blood of Jesus over the doorpost of your house by faith.

  • Exodus 12:3-4 New King James Version – 4 And if the household is too small for the lamb, let him and his neighbor next to his house take it according to the number of the persons; according to each man’s need you shall make your count for the lamb.

–JESUS HAS DONE IT ALL FOR YOU AND I.
–THERE IS NOTHING LEFT TO DO, BUT RECEIVE THE BLOOD AND APPLY IT TO YOUR LIFE.
–YOU MUST ACTIVATE YOUR OWN FAITH.

BE ON YOUR POST. PRAY. And, BE NOT WEARY IN WELL-DOING.

Live a Life of Readiness through Faith

God is a God of faith. Walk on the water of the Word of God.

  • Hebrews 11:1 New King James Version – Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good testimony.

Faith is…

  • the substance of something divinely guaranteed
  • the confident expectation
  • the title deed
  • the conviction of their reality
  • it comprehends it as fact even though it cannot be seen
  • Don’t expect your physical senses to see the same thing that faith sees.

We are saved by grace through faith. Faith becomes a way of life for the believer. FAITH–DON’T LEAVE FAITH WITHOUT IT. Don’t expect the unsaved man or woman to think like you think. They don’t have the mind of Christ.

  • Hebrews 11:6 New King James Version – But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that HE IS a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

You can’t please God without faith in God. Don’t expect God to reveal Himself the same way all the time. SEEK GOD diligently. He rewards the diligent. Faith should be a way of life. You must be born-again to understand faith. The bible says we can have no faith, little faith and great faith. Graduate from no faith. Don’t settle for little faith. Strive to walk in great faith.

Operate in the area where God has given you GREAT FAITH. Focus on what God has given you. Don’t try to be strong in an area God has not strengthened you. Use your faith in the area God has called you.

Little faith says, “I think God will.” How will little faith work against a big problem? Don’t season your heart with doubt. You can’t take a day off from faith–that’s the day the devil will show up. The devil hit Job, but Job kept some faith in his heart. Job said, “though He slay me, yet will I trust Him.”

Great faith trusts God–ALL THE WAY! Never underestimate the power of faith. Fight the good fight of faith.

  • Matthew 8: 5-13 New King James VersionNow when Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, pleading with Him, saying, “Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, dreadfully tormented.” And Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.” The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed. For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.10 When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed, “Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel! 11 And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. 12 But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” 13 Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you.” And his servant was healed that same hour.

When was the last time you LIVED on a word from God? Or are you living on a word from God AND something else? Do you have a backup plan for God’s Word?

  • There is a time to go when Jesus says go.
  • Respect the Lord’s authority.
  • You cannot purchase a bottle of faith.
  • But you can get a refill of faith everyday from the Lord.
  • Great faith is growing faith and stands on the truth of God’s Word, not facts.
  • Great faith puts ALL its faith in GOD ONLY!
  • Great faith is NOT focused on feeling.
  • Great faith is focused on GOD!
  • One word from God can change your life.

So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

Isaiah 55:11 New King James Version
